This is not a holiday. It’s a total immersion into the mindset and methods of elite padel. Over five full training days, Richy Bailey and his team will challenge every part of your game — technical precision, tactical intelligence, emotional control, and on-court decision-making. You’ll train in small groups under professional conditions at RB Padel Academy Málaga, with skill development sessions, tactical play, and constant feedback. Every drill, every rally, every conversation has a purpose: to help you understand the game at a deeper level and unlock a more complete version of yourself as a player. It’s high-intensity, high-impact, and completely transformational.

Arrive in Málaga the evening before and check into your beautiful hotel close to the academy. The evening begins with a relaxed welcome meal, a chance to meet the coaching team and other players before the week ahead. The next morning at 8am sharp, training begins.

The week opens with core technical work. We will begin by understanding the Defense Triangle: Resist, Build, and Counter. Our focus at this stage is on the Resist phase—recognising the types of shots you may receive and learning how to survive each situation with control and clarity. Morning sessions focus on rhythm, footwork, and control from the back of the court, training in pairs for maximum feedback. Afternoons move into defensive structure, mastering walls, rebounds, and controlled resets under pressure. By the end of the day, timing and precision feel sharper, and the base of your game is set. After training, Richy will host a group talk on the “History of Padel”, where you get a glimpse of the sport’s past, present and future from someone who has dedicated their life to the game.

You move forward. Mornings are about volleys, overheads, and offensive positioning. The goal is clean execution and consistency under intensity. In the afternoon, those skills are brought into real play drills that build on finishing patterns, attacking the net, and learning when to close the point. An additional evening mobility and recovery session that you don’t want to miss is led by the academy team.

The focus shifts to movement and flow. Morning sessions cover approaching the net, bajada de pared techniques, and doubles coordination, the foundation of teamwork. Afternoon sessions simulate mid-court battles and battling for the net, decision-making under time pressure, and reading opponents in live play. One of the week’s highlights is the group talk by Richy on “How Players Really Learn Padel,” sharing invaluable lessons drawn from his years with the sport and training hundreds of professional athletes at the top level.

Morning sessions centre on tactical choices and shot selection, understanding when to defend, build, or counterattack. The afternoon brings full-court match play with coaching feedback between points. Evening video analysis reviews individual clips and tactical choices, helping players see the game from a new perspective. The day concludes with an additional mobility and recovery session to prepare you for the competitive games the next day.

The final morning combines competitive games and team challenges designed to apply everything learned during the week. This is the chance to apply all your learnings through the week and apply it in the conditions of a competitive game where your fundamentals and identity as a player will be put to the test. The program closes with an evaluation and discussion with Richy’s team, recognising progress and outlining how to continue development beyond the camp.

The last morning is slow and easy, with time for breakfast and a final catch-up with your fellow padelistas. By 11 AM, it is time to check out of the hotel. Time to leave Malaga with new skills, new friends, and the memory of a city that gave you padel at its very best.

I’ve coached in six World Championships, but my proudest moments are seeing players surpass what they thought possible.
Richy Bailey is one of the most respected and experienced padel coaches in the world. With over 35 years in padel and 30 years as a coach, he has lived the sport’s evolution from its beginnings in Spain to its international growth across Europe, the U.S., and beyond. He has represented the United States National Team in six World Championships, was Head Coach of the U.S. National Women’s Team (achieving their best result in history and qualifying for the World Championship for the first time ever), and has served as National Coach of Finland. Richy has trained top international players and mentored hundreds of coaches through his official Level I, II, and III certifications endorsed by the USPA. He is the founder of Mindset Padel Academy (Spain) and The Iconic Way, a complete teaching framework that defines how players and coaches truly learn padel. His approach is revolutionary: simple, human, and effective. He believes players should learn through guided discovery, developing their own natural technique and tactical intelligence rather than memorizing robotic movements. His philosophy blends emotional intelligence, technical mastery, and real-game understanding.
I grew up in a small place, which happened to be the center of gravity of padel in Spain at the time. I learnt the game next to the country’s greatest player at the time and fell in love with it. Since then, I’ve spent my life decoding what truly drives performance and helping others reach their peak.
Málaga is my home base for high-performance work and generally a wonderful place for padel with world-class facilities, ideal conditions, and the energy to push players to their limits. It’s the perfect environment to transform.
