Hello! I’m Jess, an adventure cyclist and bikepacker who is on a mission to get more people exploring the outdoors by bike. In five years, I’ve gone from local club rides to unsupported adventures, including a 4,000km race across the Arctic Circle. Now, I help others discover the joy of bikepacking, build confidence, and experience the feeling of doing something they once thought was impossible.

I started cycling in order to train for my first triathlon, but quickly realised I was happiest on the bike and left the swimming and running behind. From there, I kept pushing myself further, taking on longer rides and bigger challenges, and eventually fell in love with endurance riding and the self-supported world of bikepacking.

Some of my favourite experiences have come from loading up a bike, heading somewhere new, and seeing what happens. I'm hosting this trip to help more people discover the freedom of self-supported adventure and realise that you don't need weeks off work or years of experience to get started.

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know before you book.

We’ll be riding approximately 67km per day over two consecutive days. The pace will be steady and sociable, with regular stops for coffee, food, photos, and enjoying the Kent countryside – this is definitely not a race.

This trip is designed as an introduction to bikepacking, so you don’t need any previous bikepacking experience. However, you should be comfortable spending several hours on the bike and covering this distance on consecutive days. The route follows quiet lanes and rolling countryside roads, and while there are some gentle climbs, the focus is on enjoying the journey, learning new skills, and building confidence for future adventures.
A road bike, gravel bike, or endurance bike is ideal for this trip. We'll be riding on paved roads, quiet country lanes, and well-surfaced routes throughout the weekend, so there is no need for a mountain bike. If you're bringing a road bike, tyres of 28mm or wider will provide extra comfort, while gravel bikes are equally well suited. Most importantly, your bike should be in good working order and capable of carrying any luggage you plan to bring. If you're unsure whether your bike is suitable, feel free to get in touch and we'll be happy to advise.
We’ll be staying in comfortable, cycle-friendly hotels each night along the route. Think warm showers, proper beds, and somewhere safe to store bikes after a big day in the saddle!
Accommodation will be in same-sex twin rooms, shared with another rider. If you’d prefer a room to yourself, this can usually be arranged for an additional cost - just drop us a message before booking and we’ll talk you through the options.
