Set at 2,100 meters (7,000 ft) above sea level, Flagstaff is one of the world’s most established altitude training hubs for distance runners, triathletes, and endurance athletes. Surrounded by the vast Coconino National Forest, the town offers hundreds of kilometres of soft dirt trails, forest roads, and rolling terrain that allow high-volume training with low impact. Popular routes like Buffalo Park provide flat tempo loops, while mountain climbs and wooded singletrack support strength and endurance sessions. Athletes also benefit from professional facilities at Northern Arizona University, including a full outdoor track, strength gyms, and sports performance centers.
