In short
The quietest Ibiza yoga retreat weeks run in the rural north around Sant Joan and San Miguel, and in the countryside near San Carlos, away from the island's nightlife. Go in spring (March to May) or autumn (September to November), when days stay warm and coves empty. Fly to Ibiza Airport; northern venues are about 20 minutes by taxi.
A yoga week in Ibiza's countryside tends to start the same way: a flowing class before breakfast, on a shaded platform under the pines or a terrace looking over the hills, then brunch outside while the day warms up. The island of late nights is a long way off. Up here the villages are white, the pace is slow and the afternoons belong to you, for a swim in a cove, a walk to an old watchtower or a nap by the pool before the evening practice.
Where in Ibiza should you book a yoga retreat?
The quietest yoga retreats in Ibiza sit in the rural north and the farm country inland. The Balearic Islands tourism board describes Sant Joan de Labritja, in the north of the island, as a white village close to Sant Miquel, Sant Vicent and Sant Llorenç, where everything happens slowly and virgin forests, cliffs and small coves lie close by. Retreats choose this land for that calm. Ananda Yoga Retreats holds its weeks near San Miguel in the north, and YOAS Yoga Retreats has used a 400 year old farmhouse there, surrounded by forest, with a yoga studio, a shaded outdoor platform and a pool. To the east, Yoga Weeks runs its finca, a traditional Ibizan farmhouse, near the village of San Carlos, about a 20 minute walk from Aguas Blancas beach. Pick the north for deep quiet and coastal walks, and San Carlos for a beach you can reach on foot.
The Sant Joan de Labritja guide from the Balearic tourism board is worth reading before you choose: it paints the north as the Ibiza far from the international spotlight, with an 18th century church and whitewashed houses at the village centre. Santa Gertrudis, inland, is on Yoga Weeks' own list of places not to miss, along with Sant Joan and Benirras.

When is the best time for a yoga retreat in Ibiza?
Spring and autumn are the best times for a yoga retreat in Ibiza: warm enough to practise outdoors, without the summer crowds. The Balearic tourism board puts spring from March to May, when the days grow longer and warmer without the extremes of summer and the coves are free of summer visitors. Its autumn page runs from September to November, when the nightlife winds down, the pace slows, the sea is still pleasant and the coves are uncrowded. Autumn also brings village festivals in Sant Miquel and Santa Gertrudis.
The table below is theKlub's month by month climate for Ibiza: the average daily high and low, and the days with 1 mm or more of rain or snow, from Open-Meteo data for 2016 to 2025.
| Month | High | Low | Rain or snow days |
|---|---|---|---|
| January | 15.5 °C | 10.5 °C | 4.7 |
| February | 16.1 °C | 10.4 °C | 4.4 |
| March | 17.2 °C | 11.9 °C | 8.2 |
| April | 19.2 °C | 13.3 °C | 6.2 |
| May | 22.9 °C | 16.1 °C | 4.6 |
| June | 27.3 °C | 20.2 °C | 2.3 |
| July | 30.3 °C | 23.2 °C | 1.2 |
| August | 30.5 °C | 23.8 °C | 2.2 |
| September | 27.5 °C | 21.7 °C | 6.9 |
| October | 24.0 °C | 18.5 °C | 6.3 |
| November | 19.3 °C | 14.7 °C | 6.7 |
| December | 16.7 °C | 11.9 °C | 5.9 |
Read it for the shoulder months. April averages a high of 19.2°C and May 22.9°C. July and August reach 30.3°C and 30.5°C, hot for a midday class. September still averages 27.5°C and October 24.0°C. The trade off is rain: March has 8.2 wet days, September 6.9 and October 6.3, against 1.2 in July, so pack a layer for the evenings.
Retreat calendars follow the same months. Yoga Weeks lists weeks in April, May, June and October, and YOAS held its farmhouse week in late September. Timetables keep practice to the cooler ends of the day: Yoga Weeks teaches at 8.30 am and again at sunset, 7.30 pm. Strong coastal winds can catch outdoor sessions on spring and autumn afternoons. Pick September if a warm swim after class matters most, and April or May if you like cool mornings and long walks.
Which kind of Ibiza yoga retreat suits you?
The right retreat comes down to group size, how much of the day is planned and whether you are travelling alone. Retreats on the island answer those three questions in very different ways.
A small group week for all levels. Ananda Yoga Retreats keeps its north Ibiza groups to a maximum of 9 guests, with daily Vinyasa flow (sequences that link each movement to the breath) to energise, Yin yoga to release tension and encourage deep rest, plus meditation, breathwork and sound healing. Meals are vegetarian. No experience is needed, and many guests come on their own. It suits a first retreat, or anyone travelling solo who wants a held week with company at dinner.
Two strong classes a day, evenings free. Yoga Weeks runs 7 day, 6 night weeks at its finca near San Carlos: a 2 hour morning Vinyasa practice including meditation and shavasana (the final rest lying on your back), then a calmer hour at sunset. Breakfast is vegetarian and dinners are left open so you can eat out. Groups run to about 8 to 10. It suits a regular practitioner, a couple or friends who want structure in the morning and their own table at night.
A slow farmhouse week. YOAS Yoga Retreats' week in the 400 year old farmhouse in the north offers two classes a day, a flowing morning class and a restorative one in the late afternoon, with brunch on a shaded terrace, dinner on five evenings and two yoga free afternoons to go out. It suits someone who wants a gentle rhythm and time to see the island.
A private retreat for your own group. Ibiza Retreats, founded in 2007 by Larah Davis, designs tailor made retreats for families, friends and private groups, working with agroturismos (rural farm hotels), private retreat homes and island teachers, therapists and sound healers. Programmes can take in yoga, meditation, breathwork and sound baths. It suits a group of friends who would rather build their own week than join one.
Across the island, theKlub's notes list Hatha, Vinyasa and Ashtanga classes: gentle Hatha suits beginners, while advanced students often join Ashtanga intensives in the retreat season.
Stretch your rest days: walks, markets and coves
Use the free afternoons for a walk, a market or a swim. The Balearic tourism board's hiking page sends walkers into the Es Amunts mountains of the north, in the footsteps of woodcutters and charcoal burners, and along coastal paths to ancient watchtowers that are now viewpoints over the sea. Inland, almond trees bloom on the Pla de Corona and Pla d'Aubarca plains in winter. A gentle walk is good active recovery after a strong morning class.
On Sunday, the hippy market in Sant Joan de Labritja fills with handmade goods and live music, and Yoga Weeks sits minutes from the Las Dalias hippy market near San Carlos. Ananda Yoga Retreats runs beach days, paddle boarding trips and sunset outings to Benirras, one of the coves about 8 minutes from its villa. For a day in town, Dalt Vila, the ancient walled neighbourhood listed by UNESCO, has notable architecture and wide views.
How do you get to a yoga retreat in north Ibiza?
Fly into Ibiza Airport (IBZ), which is well connected to many cities across Europe, then take a taxi: both Ananda's venue near San Miguel and the Yoga Weeks finca near San Carlos are about 20 minutes away. Taxis wait at the airport, and the main car hire companies have desks in the terminal.
Without a car, Yoga Weeks' travel notes suggest a bus from the airport to Santa Eulalia or Es Canar, then a short taxi to San Carlos. YOAS and Yoga Weeks both recommend hiring a car to reach the markets and beaches, and both offer to put guests in touch to share one.
Check what your retreat includes: YOAS leaves airport transfers out, while Ananda adds guests to a WhatsApp group before the week to share flight times and taxis. Arrivals often open at 4 pm, at Yoga Weeks and YOAS alike, so a flight landing by early afternoon works well. On the last day, YOAS notes you can store luggage at the airport if your flight leaves late.
Pack light, check the mats and book early
Ask your retreat whether it provides mats before you pack. Ananda provides full yoga equipment, but not every studio or outdoor space on the island does, so bring your own mat when in doubt, with a block or a strap if you use them outdoors. Pack comfortable yoga clothes, swimwear, light layers for the evenings, sunscreen and a water bottle for outdoor sessions, plus a book or journal for the afternoons.
Book early for the shoulder months: retreats often fill months ahead in peak season, and small groups of 8 to 10 leave few places. Read the cancellation terms before you pay.
