In short
Hotels with padel courts London players can reach are few. We found none in central London and four outside it: Foxhills in Surrey, less than an hour away, with three floodlit courts; Down Hall near Bishop's Stortford, 45 minutes from Liverpool Street; Beaverbrook in the Surrey Hills; and Fairmont Windsor Park beside Windsor Great Park.
If you play padel in London, you know how hard a court is to get. The Evening Standard said as much when it reviewed Down Hall, a country house hotel with its own court, and noted Londoners queuing for a visit as spring arrives. The idea is simple and very appealing: play in the morning, eat a long lunch on the terrace, play again before dinner, and never once refresh a booking app. The catch is how few hotels can offer it.
Which hotels near London have their own padel court?
Hotels near London with a padel court of their own are rare, and the honest count is short. We found no hotel in central London with a court on site, and four within reach of the city whose own pages or court listings show one. Foxhills, a country hotel and club in Surrey, has three floodlit padel courts and sits less than an hour from central London. Down Hall, a country house hotel at Hatfield Heath on the Hertfordshire and Essex border, has one outdoor court and is 45 minutes from Liverpool Street. Beaverbrook, a country house estate in the Surrey Hills, offers padel to book during a stay. Fairmont Windsor Park, on the edge of Windsor Great Park, has two outdoor courts and is within easy reach of Heathrow and central London. Every one of the four has a small number of courts, so a guest who wants regular games should book the court together with the room.
Here is how the four compare on the things that decide a padel weekend: where they are, how many courts they have, and who is allowed to play.
| Hotel | Where | Courts | From London | Who can play |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Foxhills | Surrey countryside | 3 floodlit | Less than an hour from central London | Members and hotel guests |
| Down Hall | Hatfield Heath, Hertfordshire and Essex border | 1 outdoor | 45 minutes from Liverpool Street | Anyone, pay and play on MATCHi |
| Beaverbrook | Surrey Hills | Bookable during a stay | Not stated on its pages | Hotel guests |
| Fairmont Windsor Park | Edge of Windsor Great Park | 2 outdoor | Within easy reach of central London | Hotel guests, and the public through membership |
Play three floodlit courts at Foxhills in Surrey
Foxhills suits a group or a family who want padel to be one part of a busy weekend. The estate covers 400 acres of Surrey countryside around 20 minutes from Heathrow, with 66 bedrooms and suites, five swimming pools, a spa and two championship golf courses. Its three floodlit padel courts sit beside two pickleball courts and nine tennis courts, so a mixed group can split up for the morning and meet again at lunch.
New to the game? Padel is usually played as doubles in an enclosed court, a cross between tennis and squash where the ball can come back into play off the glass or mesh walls. The racket is solid and stringless, the ball is a low-pressure tennis ball, and a match runs like tennis, best of three sets.
Foxhills offers padel to its members and hotel guests, with a timetable of coaching sessions plus friendly and competitive matches set up for different levels. Its padel and pickleball page names no pay and play option for visitors, so plan to stay the night or join the club. To book a court or a session, use the timetable on that page or ask the team through its enquiry form.
Can non-residents play the padel court at Down Hall?
Yes. Down Hall's single outdoor court, laid with artificial grass, runs on a pay and play basis, and anyone can book it on MATCHi, the court booking platform, between 08:00 and 22:00 every day. The court is managed by PDL Padel United UK, the padel company named on its MATCHi page.
Staying guests get more. When the Evening Standard reviewed Down Hall, a stay came with free use of the court, equipment hire included. Ask the hotel whether that still holds when you book your room, since the court's MATCHi page does not mention it.
The hotel is a 19th-century Italian mansion with 98 bedrooms, the Eden Spa and 110 acres of gardens and woodland at Hatfield Heath, near Bishop's Stortford. The court went in during the pandemic, and the Standard picked Down Hall out for padel players who want a calm weekend in the countryside, above all those who live or work near Liverpool Street.
You do not need a car. Trains from Liverpool Street reach Sawbridgeworth in under 45 minutes, and the taxi from the station takes 12 minutes. Flying from Stansted? The hotel is a 17-minute drive from the airport, so a game before an early flight is realistic.
Book a court during your stay at Beaverbrook or Fairmont Windsor Park
Beaverbrook is a country house estate in the heart of the Surrey Hills, once the home of the publisher and politician Lord Beaverbrook, with the Coach House Spa looking out over the hills. Padel here is something you book while you stay: the hotel provides all the equipment and the game is open to all ages, so a family can play together. Its padel page asks you to enquire with the team to book a session. Beaverbrook suits a couple or a family who want a game or two inside a slower spa weekend.
Fairmont Windsor Park sits on the edge of Windsor Great Park in 40 acres with a lake, and its spa has 18 treatment rooms and a 20 m indoor pool. Its listing on iPadel, a UK padel club directory, shows two outdoor courts for hotel guests and for members of the public who join through membership, with no pay and play. Private lessons are available too. Fairmont Windsor Park suits a player who wants lessons and a spa within easy reach of Heathrow; non-residents need a membership to play.
When is an outdoor court near London worth the trip?
Summer gives an outdoor court its best odds, with the warmest days and, in August, the fewest wet ones, so keep a back-up plan for rain the rest of the year. Down Hall's court and Fairmont Windsor Park's two courts are outdoors, and the Evening Standard warns that Down Hall's court is open to the elements. Foxhills' three courts are floodlit.
The table shows London's average daily high and low, and the days with rain or snow each month, from Open-Meteo weather data for 2016 to 2025. The hotels sit outside the city, so read it as a guide to the season, not a forecast.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need to bring my own padel racket to these hotels?
Not always. Beaverbrook provides all the equipment for padel sessions booked during a stay, and the Evening Standard reported that a stay at Down Hall included equipment hire with free use of the court. The Foxhills and Fairmont Windsor Park pages we read do not say, so ask when you book, or pack your own racket to be safe.
Can I get padel lessons at a hotel near London?
Yes, at two of the four. Foxhills runs a timetable of padel coaching sessions for members and hotel guests, alongside friendly and competitive matches, and Fairmont Windsor Park offers private lessons, according to its iPadel listing. For a full weekend of coaching in the city, M3 Padel Academy coaches theKlub's M3 London Padel Camp.
Can I reach a padel hotel near London without a car?
Down Hall is the easiest by train. Trains from Liverpool Street reach Sawbridgeworth in under 45 minutes, then a taxi takes 12 minutes to the hotel. The pages we read for Foxhills, Beaverbrook and Fairmont Windsor Park give no public transport route, so ask the hotel how guests usually arrive before you book.
Where can I get serious padel coaching in London itself?
theKlub's M3 London Padel Camp runs over 2 days in London with coaching from M3 Padel Academy, the academy led by Jorge Martínez that has trained more than 2,000 players from 120 countries. The next camp is on 21 and 22 November 2026.
For courts you book by the hour, read our guide to padel courts in London, and for a coached weekend, the M3 padel camp in London.
Pick the hotel by the way you like to play. Down Hall suits players who want to book on their own terms and arrive by train, Foxhills a group that wants coaching and three courts, and Beaverbrook or Fairmont Windsor Park a spa weekend with a game in it. Courts are few at every one of them, so book the court the moment you book the room.
